Environmental Certifications

We ensure that the majority of our real estate assets obtain environmental certification.

From the moment of their conception, we work with teams of architects and industry-specialized consultants to ensure that our assets can be certified with one of the three globally recognized certifications.

Monthisa is committed to achieving the highest possible level of certification in each case.

For new construction projects, agreements are made with the architectural team to employ the best available techniques to achieve LEED Platinum certification levels. Meanwhile, for the rehabilitation of existing buildings, all possible renovations are undertaken to obtain LEED Gold certification.

An example of this commitment is the Dublín Building, located at Calle Vía de Dublín, 7 in Madrid, which has obtained LEED Gold certification. Additionally, the París Building, situated at Calle Ribera del Loira, 8-10 in Madrid, has been awarded BREEAM In-Use certification with a “Very Good” rating, certifying both the building’s characteristics and its facilities.

Monthisa owns assets with WELL certification and actively collaborates with tenants to maintain this rating. One example is the adaptation of the gastronomic offering by restaurant businesses to provide healthy food options, as audited by this certification.

A notable case is the Dublín Building, owned by Monthisa, which holds WELL Gold certification. This certification focuses on the health and comfort of users by evaluating key areas such as air, water, lighting, nutrition, promotion of physical activity, comfort, and environment.

Having LEED, WELL, and BREEAM certifications externally validates Monthisa’s commitment to sustainability, as these certifications are designed to assess and promote sustainable practices in the construction and operation of assets.

Some of the key positive implications of these certifications for Monthisa can be summarized as follows:

LEED

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design

This certification focuses on energy efficiency, water management, indoor air quality, and other aspects related to environmental sustainability. Obtaining LEED certification highlights the company's commitment to sustainable building practices.

BREEAM

Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method

Similar to LEED, BREEAM assesses a building's environmental performance in areas such as energy, water, materials, and health and well-being. Obtaining BREEAM certification demonstrates the company's commitment to rigorous environmental standards.

WELL

WELL or WELL Building Standard

It is a global rating system that identifies, measures, and monitors health and well-being-based features in buildings.
